Personal information is collected only when you voluntarily provide it to us.  Your public information or NPI will be used only for our correspondence with you to send you the requested documents or information and will not be passed on to third parties.  For example, if you complete information on the Contact Us web page, then you will be required to enter your name, company, phone number, and email address.  We will use this information to provide you with more information about KW Specialty Insurance Company and its services, events, or job openings.  From time to time we email our users to announce a promotion or a change in our service.  You may opt-out of mailings by scrolling down to the bottom of one of our emails and clicking the opt-out link.

Automatic Information Collecting

In addition to the information that you provide us, we may also collect information about you during your visit to our website.  We collect this information using automated tools such as IP addresses, cookies, web beacons, and embedded links.

IP Addresses:  An IP address is a unique string of numbers separated by periods that identifies each computer using the Internet Protocol to communicate over a network.  We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website.  Your IP address is also used to gather broad demographic information.

Cookies:  Cookies are small pieces of text stored on your computer (not our website) that help us know which browser you are using and where you have been on our site.  Most cookies are “session cookies” which means they are automatically deleted at the end of each session.  A cookie itself does not have the ability to automatically collect personal information about you.  A cookie can store certain information that identifies your computer to us so that you do not have to re-enter information as frequently when you use our site.

Web Beacons:  A web beacon is an electronic image.  Web beacons can track certain things from your computer and can report activity back to a web server allowing us or our trusted third parties to understand some of your behavior while using the websites.  If you choose to receive emails from us, then we may use web beacons to track your reaction to our emails, such as whether you opened them or not.  Examples of such emails might be welcome messages or billing alerts.

Embedded Links:  Links provided in our emails may include tracking technology embedded in the link.  Some of these links will enable us, or our trusted third-party service provider, to identify that you have clicked on the link in the email and, in some cases, this click information may be attached to the NPI that we hold about you.  This data is used to improve our service to you.

Do Not Track Requests

Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies.  If you would prefer, then you can set your browser to not allow cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent or employ blocking mechanisms.  The rejection of cookies may prevent you from using certain functions within the website.

Our websites contain hyperlinks or links to other sites, and other sites may link to this site.  Websites linking to and from our websites may have different privacy practices from the ones described herein.  Visitors to our websites should read the privacy statements of other websites they visit.  Our privacy policy applies solely to information collected by our website.  We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy, legality, reliability, or validity of any content on any other site.

Information of Minors

We understand the importance of protecting the privacy of minors.  We consider anyone under the age of 18 to be a minor and therefore not eligible for our services.  We ask that no one under the age of 18 submit any personal information to us.
